报告摘要:

With the advancements in the quality of materials and the increased sophistication of techniques to probe them, the exotic states of matter in the strongly correlated electronic systems have attracted considerable attention in condensed matter field. The intricate interplay between the local degrees of freedom, such as charge, spin and orbit, may lead to intriguing phenomena, which are beyond the framework of traditional condensed matter theory and are frontier issues in this field. Understanding the nature of these exotic states is an important but challenging issue in condensed matter physics. In this talk, I will mainly introduce our efforts in studying the exotic states in three typical correlated systems: the fractional quantum Hall systems, the quantum spin liquids and the doped Mott insulators. I will first briefly overview the backgrounds of these systems and then describe some of our work as concrete examples.

报告人介绍:

朱征,中国科学院大学卡弗里理论科学研究所(KITS)助理教授。2006-2010年本科就读于南京大学理科强化部,主修物理方向。2010保送至清华大学高等研究院攻读博士学位,从事凝聚态理论研究。2015年取得博士学位后,先后于2015年至2018年在美国麻省理工学院物理系,2018年至2020年在美国哈佛大学物理系,从事博士后研究工作。2020年9月加入KITS。主要研究方向是强关联电子体系的新奇物态与相变,包括量子霍尔效应体系、自旋液体体系、高温超导体系等;以及强关联体系的数值计算方法,包括密度矩阵重整化群等,对应研究成果发表在PRL、PRX、PRB、PR Research等杂志。
