Improving the thermal efficiency of engines and vehicles has been the most popular research topic through the energy and manufacturing fields for decades. This talk will overview the state-of-the-art technologies in fuel economy optimization on modern engines and hybrid electric vehicles. Control system plays a key role in online energy flow control and emissions regulation, high efficient control system can lead to significant reductions in fuel consumption and exhaust gas emissions. In this talk, three topics are selected: (1) Real-time energy management, (2) Multi-variable system regulation, and (3) Noise rejection. For each topic, problem importance, challenges in problem formulation and solution methodology as well as our novel ideas will be addressed.

主讲人简介:

赵德宗,2003年和2006年在山东大学控制学院分别获得工学学士和工学硕士学位,2010年在清华大学自动化系获得工学博士学位。2010年至2011年在清华大学电机系从事博士后研究,2011年至今在英国拉夫堡大学航空与汽车工程系任助理研究员(Research Associate),赵德宗博士的研究兴趣包括能量回收系统、新能源汽车、新型发动机控制、网络化运动控制系统等,成果已经在学术界和工业界得到广泛应用。20142月,赵德宗博士所在的研究组成功研制出世界首台发动机废气能量回收装置(Electric Turbo Assist),他在其中负责控制系统设计与实现。赵德宗博士已经在国际期刊和会议,包括IEEE Trans. on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Trans. on Control Systems Technology, IEEE Conf. on Decision and Control, American Control Conference等知名期刊和会议上发表文章约30篇。赵德宗博士是5个国际会议的程序委员会委员,担任一项美国卡特彼勒公司资助项目(3万英镑)的负责人,并拥有3项欧洲专利。
