讲座题目：Herman rings

主要内容：

It will be an exposition on Herman rings. Starting from the definition, the talk will describe importance and implications of Herman rings in complex dynamics. A number of important results will be surveyed. It will be proved that a meromorphic function with at least an omitted value and with a single pole cannot have a Herman ring. Other important properties of Herman rings of such functions will also be discussed. Some open problems are mentioned.

主讲人简介：

Tarakanta Nayak  is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the  School of Basic Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, India. His broad area of research is Complex dynamics and currently he works on iteration of transcendental meromorphic functions. After obtaining a PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India he spent two years in Tsinghua University, P R China as post doctoral fellow. He is currently a Junior Associate of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy.
